The 21st annual Morris Anderson Memorial Shootout was held this past weekend at North Hill Bowl in Minot, ND. 132 players made the trip to the Magic City for a chance at over $23,000 in total prize money.
Qualifying started on Saturday which featured an 8 game block on the custom 42 foot pattern to determine the top 30 who would advance to match play. Jeff Campbell hit the ground running and never looked back. Campbell fired off a 1935 block which was 111 pins better than anyone else in the field. Highlighting his round was a 300 in game 5 which would give him the Farmers Union Insurance 300 game pot that had swelled over the last 12 years to $3600.
The festivities on Saturday evening included a meal, door prizes, and the announcement of the top 30 bowlers. The cut to the top 30 was defending champion Brady Stearns with a 1645 total. An additional 3 players were paid making the payout 1 for 4.

Sunday’s match play round featured 9 games of round robin matches followed by a position round to determine the final 5 for the NDBowlTV finals. The round featured multiple lead changes throughout the morning, but when the dust settled, it was Stearns claiming the top spot in the finals. Joining Stearns was Dawson Peterson, Zach Andresen, Clay Rees, and Brandon Hanson.

Andresen started his weekend with an impressive 1824 qualifying block which put him second behind Campbell. In Match Play, Andresen used a 288 in game 9 to vault himself into the mix for a spot on the show. Andresen put together a masterful performance on NDBowlTV averaging 215 in the finals to claim his first NDBowling.com Major title. Fresh off earning a spot on Jr. Team USA just a few weeks ago at Team Trials, Andresen becomes the 2nd player in 3 years to have won the Shootout in their first try (Paul Bober 2022).
