The inaugural NDBowlTV Masters was held this past weekend at North Hill Bowl in Minot and the conditions mimicked that of the USBC Masters. The tournament featured 34 bowlers competing on the 2019 USBC Masters pattern for a $1000 top prize along with a paid entry into the 2020 USBC Masters in Reno, NV.
All bowlers bowled 8 games on Saturday where the top 16 advanced to the bracket on Sunday. Matt Smallin was high qualifier with a 1576 total. The 1.6-1 ratio oil pattern proved extremely challenging leading to a top 16 cut of -182.
On Sunday, the top 16 were entered into a bracket based on qualifying finish for 3 game total pin matches. After two rounds, Jamey Kragh, Andy Kollbaum, Matt Smallin and Thomas Wolf remained undefeated and were put into a stepladder final based on their 6 game totals. The undefeated 4 would be joined by Monique Ley as the 5 seed. She earned the 5 seed by having the highest 6 game total of those losing in the second round.

Fresh off of his victory at the 2019 Coors Light Fall Shootout in Williston, Smallin came up clutch in the tenth of the championship match against Jamey Kragh to win the $1000 top prize as well as a paid entry into the 2020 USBC Masters in Reno. Nice bowling, Matt!
