2026 Morris Anderson Memorial Shootout

POSTER

Schedule:

Saturday – 8 game qualifying block starting at 11 am.
Sunday – Match Play starting at 9 am – Finals on NDBowlTV

Storylines

Lane Pattern Analysis
The lane pattern being used this season is a 44 foot pattern that features a shade under 30 mls of oil and a ratio of 2.36-1. This pattern is 2 feet longer than last years pattern and a bit flatter. While I expect multiple styles to be in play, the key to this pattern will be navigating the middle part of the lane. Those players who are still able to create enough angle down lane to carry strikes later in the block will ultimately make the cut to match play. I expect the cut to be in the even to -25 range. PATTERN

Beginners Luck?
The Morris Anderson Memorial Shootout oftentimes produces one of the more talented tournament fields we see in the high plains. Having tournament experience, however, does not seem to be a requirement for success. In the past 4 years, the title has been won by a player making their tournament debut 3 times (Bober 2022, Andresen 2024, Reid 2025). Heading to Minot for the first time this weekend? Recent trends signal a favorable outcome.

Player of The Year Race
As we reach the midway point of the season, it is a good time to take a look at the current NDBowling.com Player of the Year Race. Leading the way this season is Jamey Kragh with 96.10 points. Kragh holds a narrow lead over Dawson Unrath and Wade Scott. Within the current top 10, only 2 players have previously won a Player of the Year award. (Josh Kragh & Thomas Wolf). With 3 Majors and a visit to Aberdeen remaining, who will emerge as the top point earner this season?

Current Player of the Year Rankings

Award Winners:
Jeremiah Smith – (3) 17-18, 20-21, 22-23
Thomas Wolf – (2) 15-16, 23-24
Eric Parvey – (2) 16-17, 19-20
Josh Kragh – (1) 24-25
Jon Breckel- (1) 21-22
Mike Larson – (1) 18-19
