2024-2025 Season – First Half Preview

Posted on October 16, 2024October 16, 2024 By admin

The 2024-2025 season is underway as local leagues have started and bowling centers are starting to see increased traffic from those looking to get back on the lanes.

As Fall sets in and temperatures get colder, the scratch tournament scene in North Dakota comes into focus. Lets take a look into the events on the Fall tournament schedule.

FALL SHOOTOUT
The Fall slate of events will kick off in Williston at the Fall Shootout on October 19th & 20th. This tournament will feature over $23,000 in total prize fund and a strong field of bowlers all looking to take home their share. Brad Peterson and the folks at Strike Zone have done a great job with this tournament in what has become a top tier event in our region. Two-time defending champion, Dawson Unrath, will be in attendance looking to complete a rare three-peat. TOURNAMENT POSTER

NDBowlTV Masters
The NDBowlTV Masters will take place October 26th and 27th at North Hill Bowl in Minot. The NDBowlTV Masters features a format that mimics the USBC Masters. Over the years, this event has produced brutal scoring conditions and this season will be no different. The 2024 USBC Masters pattern that will be used features 44 feet of oil and a ratio under 2-1. While this tournament may provide difficult conditions, the unique format gives anyone a chance to win.

Last season, Tayler Wallstrum defeated Jamey Kragh to win the NDBowlTV Masters and a paid spot into the 2024 USBC Masters. Wallstrum then parlayed that victory into a cashing performance at the USBC Masters back in March.

NDBPA State Doubles & Singles
For the first time in several years, the NDBPA Scratch Singles tournament will return and the NDBPA Scratch Doubles will follow it the very next day. The 2 tournaments will take place at Midway Lanes November 9th and 10th.

The Proprietors Association decided on a change in what has long been a two day event for doubles that featured a singles option. This seasons changes will likely not appeal to everyone, however, the changes mean a larger prize fund overall. It is important to also note that, with the change, NDBowling.com Player of the Year points will be awarded based on the NDBPA State Scratch Singles. Also new this season, NDBowlTV will provide wall to wall coverage of the Singles event on Saturday the 9th.

NDBPA State Team
The NDBPA State Team event will take place December 14-15 at Sunset Lanes in Moorhead. This tournament has long been a favorite among local bowlers, but has been dominated by ND Storm. Since 2012, ND Storm has won this event 8 times, including the last 2 times it has been held at Sunset Lanes. Last season, Team ND Storm captured another title at Midway Lanes by a pretty comfortable margin. Will the dynasty continue?
