The tournament consisted of 3, 6-game, qualifying rounds with the top 32 6-game scores adancing to Match Play on Sunday. Bowlers were allowed to re-enter if spots were available. The tournament was contested on the ABT #9 pattern. This 38-foot pattern featured a ratio of 2.43-1 and a shade under 25 mls of oil.
With re-entries, a total of 142 entries were recorded across the 3 qualifying blocks. Dominating the qualifying round and earning a $150 bonus as the qualifying leader was Duncan DeVries. DeVries posted an impressive 1440 total which was over 140 pins clear of the field.
As for the rest of the competitors? Scores were pretty low as the top 32 cut was -88 with only 8 players turning in a 200+ average for the 6 games. Ryan Selk and Michael Neibauer tied for the final spot in the 32-person field and had a 1-game roll off to determine who would advance. Neibauer would go on to defeat Selk 190-153 for the final spot.
Tournament Scores
On Sunday, the top 32 were separated into 4 groups of 8. Each group would bowl round robin matches with the winner of each match receiving 10 bonus pins. Following the position round in game 8, the top 8 players would advance to the stepladder finals on NDBowlTV.
The scores on Sunday remained low as only 3 of the 32 players were able to average over 200 for the 8 games of match play. Leading the way on Sunday was 2017 Manitoba Open Champion, Wade Scott. Scott averaged over 213 in match play to claim the #1 overall seed on NDBowlTV and as the top seed he must be defeated twice. Rounding out the 8-person stepladder finals was Duncan DeVries, Aaron Craig, Trysten Climer, Chase McVicar, Doug Wagner Jr., Mitch Hupe, and Michael Neibauer.

The NDBowlTV finals featured a mix of past champions and players who qualified for the finals for the first time. By qualifying as the 5 seed. 15-year old Chase McVicar becomes the youngest player to ever bowl in the finals at the Manitoba Open ultimately finishing in 3rd.
In the championship match, Wade Scott put up a late 4 bagger to force Duncan DeVries to strike out to win by 1. DeVries was unable to convert giving Scott his second Manitoba Open Title.

Much like in 2017, Wade Scott qualified as the #1 seed on NDBowlTV and won the opening match to take home the title. The win gives Scott his second NDBowling.com Major and he becomes just the 24th player to win multiple Major Titles. For his efforts, Scott earned the $4500 top prize. Great bowling, Wade!
