Sunday – Match Play followed by live TV finals on Western ND NBC Stations. Live TV Finals begin @ 12:30 pm.

Storylines
Lane Pattern Analysis
The lane pattern for the 2024 KFYR TV Bowling Classic will be a custom 44 foot pattern with over 32 mls of oil and a ratio of 2.73-1 on the right and 2.5-1 on the left.
The one thing that stands out is where the shape of the pattern is. From 12 on the right to 12 on the left, the pattern is completely flat and most of the shape happens from boards 2 to 12. This will cause players to have to play the outside part of the lane at the breakpoint in order to find room. Playing outside on a longer pattern with decent volume means players will have to keep the ball in front of them, especially early on and through the initial carry down phase. The key to this pattern will be navigating the breakdown in games 3, 4 & 5 when the heads start to go, forcing players towards the middle of the lane. I expect the cut to the in the -15 to +35 range.
Major Opportunity
Over the past 8 years, the KFYR TV Bowling Classic has produced 6 first-time major winners including the defending champion, Chad Nelson. Up until last season, many considered Nelson to be one of the best bowlers to have not won a NDBowling.com Major Title (of those who routinely bowl them).
With that being said, who would now be considered the best without a Major? When looking at this seasons roster, a few names stand out. Randy Peterson, Mike Larson, Thomas Wolf, and Ryan Selk have all made the championship match at a Major, still looking for that elusive title. Will we see another first time Major winner this weekend? Don’t be surprised to see either one of these players on KFYR TV Sunday afternoon.
