Sunset Lanes in Moorhead, MN will once again play host to the Season’s Final Major, the NDBowling.com Classic. The 2022 NDBowling.com Classic will field a talented roster looking to take home the Glen Hains Memorial Trophy on Sunday. Here are the storylines heading into the 2022 Classic.
Lane Pattern Analysis
The 2022 NDBowling.com Classic will be contested on Kegel’s 39 foot Winding Road V2 Pattern. This pattern features 26.7 ml of oil and a ratio of 3.39-1. I expect this pattern to be fairly playable in the 6 to 10 board area with a tricky transition period that will develop due to the variety of surfaces being used early on. I expect the cut to be in the +20 to +60 range.
Player of the Year Race Concludes
The NDBowling.com Player of the year race will conclude this weekend at Sunset Lanes. Currently, Jon Breckel leads the way with 124.64 points following a 6th place finish last week in Aberdeen. Wade Scott trails Breckel by less than 3 points setting up a race to the finish among the two most consistent players this season. The top point total at the end of the tournament will earn Player of the Year honors, and the top 5 will be named to NDBowling.com Team of the Year. Here are the top 10 heading into the final event.

Bid Farewell to a North Dakota Bowling Legend
Jack Nelson will travel to his hometown of Moorhead, MN to attend the 2022 Classic in what appears to be his final start in a NDBowling.com Major. Recently retired, Nelson will be moving to the Southeast US this summer. The 3-time NDBowling.com Major winner will leave behind a legacy in North Dakota Bowling History that many would put at or near the best all time. If you are on the fence about bowling this weekend, we encourage you to come on out to Sunset Lanes to compete with one of the all-time greats one last time.
